Setup and Install

General

Before proceeding with an installation of WordPerfect Office 2002, ensure that all applications are closed. This includes all virus detection programs and any other applications that may be open in the system tray or on the Windows taskbar. Failure to do so may increase the installation time and may interfere with the normal setup process. It is also suggested that you delete the contents of your system's TEMP folder, typically found in the C:\WINDOWS folder, to avoid file and memory conflicts before installing WordPerfect Office 2002.

The following lists all the components available for installation with WordPerfect Office 2002. An asterisk (*) indicates the component is part of the Typical installation option. All other items are available by running the Custom installation option. Components in italic font face are only available in WordPerfect Office 2002 Professional Edition. All other components are available in the WordPerfect Office 2002 Standard Edition.

Notes

** The installation size indicated in the setup program may not be correct. Variability in the size of the Microsoft Internet Explorer installation combined with differing hard drive Allocation Unit sizes, may cause the sizes generated by the setup to be different then the system requirements printed on the box.

Accessibility

If you are using screen reader software when trying to install WordPerfect Office 2002, you will encounter problems with the Autorun because JAWS® for Windows® cannot currently read from it.

To work around this problem and to have a successful installation, follow the steps listed below.

Installation

1. To launch the installation for WordPerfect Office 2002, find and double-click the file called "Setup32.exe" located on the root of your CD .

2. To open the Release Notes file you will need to double-click on the file called "ReleaseNotes.htm" or "ReleaseNotes.txt" found on the root of the WordPerfect Office 2002 CD.

Adding, deleting, and updating WordPerfect Office 2002 components

After installing WordPerfect Office 2002, you can add components to the installation. For example, after using the Typical installation option, you may discover that you wish to install TextArt.

You can uninstall WordPerfect Office 2002 components to free up disk space. You can also update components to refresh their configuration settings. Updating components also repairs WordPerfect Office 2002 if you have accidentally deleted application files.

To add components to a WordPerfect Office 2002 installation

1. Close any open WordPerfect Office 2002 applications.

2. Click Start on the Windows Taskbar, then click Control Panel.

3. Click on the Add or Remove Programs link.

4. In the Add or Remove Programs dialog, click on the Add New Programs button.

5. Click on Cd or Floppy and follow the installation instructions.

To delete installed WordPerfect Office 2002 components

1. Close any open WordPerfect Office 2002 applications.

2. Click Start on the Windows Taskbar, then click Control Panel.

3. Click on the Add or Remove Programs link.

4. In the Add or Remove Programs dialog, click on the Change or Remove Programs button.

5. Click on Change/Remove and follow the instructions.

Removing Older Versions of Applications

It is not necessary to remove older versions of WordPerfect Office applications (for example, Corel WordPerfect Suite 8, Corel WordPerfect Suite 7, or any of their components) before installing WordPerfect Office 2002. The Setup program for WordPerfect Office 2002 does not overwrite or remove pre-Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows NT 4.0 versions of these applications. However, you may need to remove these applications or other applications to free up disk space for an installation.

To remove other applications to preserve disk space

1. Click Start on the Windows Taskbar, then click Settings, Control Panel.

2. Click Add/Remove Programs, then follow the on-screen prompts.

If Add/Remove Programs does not include an option to remove the program, see if the original Setup or Install program includes an Uninstall option. If there isn't an Uninstall option, delete the program files manually or use one of the uninstall programs available from your software retailer.

Network installation and administration

WordPerfect Office 2002 includes the Network Administrator Setup wizard. Using this wizard, Information Technology (IT) managers and system administrators can deploy WordPerfect Office 2002 to multiple workstations by setting up WordPerfect Office 2002 so that it runs from a server. The Network Administrator Setup Wizard is not included in some versions of WordPerfect Office 2002.

To use the Network Administrator Setup wizard

1. Insert the WordPerfect Office 2002 CD into the CD-ROM drive.

**If the WordPerfect Office 2002 Setup screen displays, click Exit.**

2. From the Windows taskbar, click the Start button, and click Run. Type D:\setup32.exe /admin (or /net) (where D is the letter that corresponds to the CD-ROM drive) in the Open box.

3. Click the Next button and follow the instructions in the Network Administrator Setup wizard.

Notes

If the server you are looking for can be reached through a UNC path, and the path is not displayed in Network Neighborhood, you can enter the UNC path in the destination path of the Browse button and press Enter. You will notice that the OK button is not active until the path is entered.

When going to the same server using multiple servers, and using the same folder after the machine name, you will have to keep track of the order that is entered into the Browse dialog box. After selecting Next at the bottom of the page, each server entry is visible in the display box; the machine name and volume are visible but the actual folder name is not available.

If you are using multiple servers with identical destination paths for both machine name and volume but a different folder name, the settings that you select for one server will affect both servers and they cannot be separated.

If you are planning a network install to a server in another domain, and the workstation does not have the proper trusts and permissions, you have to resolve those issues before starting the Network Administrator Setup wizard. Otherwise, the wizard will respond by not even acknowledging the presence of the destination folder and may not be seen in the browse dialog box.

There are several command line switches you can use with SETUP32.EXE. For a detailed list of the command line switches, see the appendices in the WordPerfect Office 2002 Network Administrator Guide. The guide is available on the CD, in the \WordPerfect Office 2002\Shared\PDFs\Admn10en.pdf file, on the web at www.corel.com or through Corel Technical Support Services.

The .MSI file within the setup must not be modified. When using an altered .MSI file, the result of the install and uninstall processes cannot be guaranteed.

When doing a run from network installation, the administrator can choose to mark the files as read only. The read only attribute of the files in the \WordPerfect Office 2002\Config\QuattroPro10 folder has to be removed before doing a workstation installation. Otherwise, the read only attribute can be removed from each workstation installation under the \Windows\Application Data\QuattroPro10 folder. Failure to remove the read only attribute will result in error messages every time Quattro Pro is exited.

When installing on Win98se with a Novell Client and using mapped drives, the displayed disk space information may be wrong.

Quattro Pro 10

This section describes issues with this version of Quattro Pro 10:

General

Issue: Analysis Tool menu option is greyed out

Workaround: This could be caused by one of two things. Either the @AddIn Function component is not installed – re-run setup to install this. Or your install path is greater than 100 characters.

Issue: Dynamic Image update

Workaround: In order for dynamic images to be updated properly (for example, weather maps or stock market graphs which are automatically updated and re-generated by a server every few minutes), a system setting requires modification.

Do the following steps:

1. Open the Control Panel window from the Start menu.

2. Click on "Internet Options" icon. On the General tab, click the "Settings" button. Under "Check for newer versions of stored pages" category check the "Every visit to the page" option.

3. Click OK

4. Click OK

NOTE: if you do not have an "Internet Options" icon in your Windows Control Panel, please install the VBA component in setup.

Issue: PerfectExpert templates list does not refresh after installing new templates.

Workaround: When you install only a few templates, then go back and install more templates, the PerfectExpert dialog will not update unless you refresh the list. To do this open the PerfectExpert dialog select Options and Refresh. The projects list will refresh all application templates and present you with the updated listing.

Issue: Axis Property “Scale Values to” greyed out

Workaround: "Scale Values to" drop down list is only available for Number and Currency numeric formats. For all other Numeric formats it will be grayed out.

Issue: Can be difficult to select elements of a chart

Workaround: If an element cannot be selected by using the mouse, use the Object Selector on the chart property toolbar.

Issue: Can only select one X-Axis label at a time

Workaround: This issue occurs when Automatic Skip labels is on. In order to be able to select all X-Axis labels at once, you have to turn off the Automatic Skip option.

Accessibility

Issue: Can’t get to the Main Menu with Henter-Joyce’s screenreader JAWS running by pressing “Alt” key.

Workaround: Pressing the “Alt” key is the standard way of putting focus to the main menu, with JAWS running pressing the “Alt” key twice or using “Alt + F10" will put focus to the menu. After that use the Left and Right arrow keys to cycle through the main menu options. The down arrow key, enter key, or space bar will open the menu.

PerfectScript

Issue: AppExecute Command

Workaround: When trying to run macros, instead of using the AppExecute command, we recommend the use of the MacroPlay command in the form MacroPlay("macro.wcm"; dontwait!)
